                   The NationalService Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government sponsored public service programconducted by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government ofIndia. Our collage has started NSS unit in the year 2007 with the establishmentof college. Aimed at developing student's personality through communityservice, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in College. The cardinalprinciple of the program is that it is organized by the students themselves andboth students and teachers through their combined participation in socialservice, get a sense of involvement in the tasks of national development.Besides, the students, particularly, obtain work experience which might helpthem to find avenues of self-employment or employment in any organization atthe end of their college or university career. Every year NSS unit organizesseven day camp in different villages. Different activities are carried out asper NSS curriculum. Under regular activity, different program are organizedsuch as cleaning of college, orientation of the students, plantation,Legal-Literacy camps, Blood donation etc.

  • Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving process.
  • Develop among them a sense of social and civic responsibility.
  • Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solution to individual and community problems.

  • Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.
  • Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters.
  • Practice national integration and social harmony.


              The Motto of NSS "Not Me ButYou", reflects the essence of democratic livingand upholds the need for self-less service.


              The symbol for the NSS has been based on the giant Rath Wheel of the worldfamous Konark Sun Temple (The Black Pagoda) situated in Orissa, India. The wheel portrays the cycle of creation,preservation and release and signifies the movement in life across time andspace, the symbol thus stands for continuity as well as change and implies thecontinuous striving of NSS for social change.


              The NSS Symbol is embossed on the badge. The eight bars in the wheelrepresent the 24 hours of a day. The red colour indicates that the volunteer isfull of young blood that is lively, active, energetic and full of high spirit.The navy blue colour indicates the cosmos of which the NSS is tiny part, readyto contribute its share for the welfare of the mankind.
